We are now on the home stretch towards Christmas, and for retailers there is still time to boost sales. Now that Black Friday and Cyber Monday are over, you may be looking for inspiration for campaigns that will speak to the consumers current mindset.

It’s time to switch your focus, brush up on your messaging and put yourself in your customers shoes to get some ideas flowing. We’ve curated a selection of examples to get you started.

Secret Santa

Many companies and even extended families participate in a secret santa. Given that there will usually be an allocated spending limit, retailers will do well to merchandise their product with this in mind, splitting their product into categories by price points.

Share your Christmas Wishlist

If your eCommerce store has wishlist functionality, why not flip the scenario, and encourage your customers to send out their Christmas wishlist? Take it to the next level by creating bespoke xmas designs to choose from.

A Christmas Competition

Rather than a straight discount, customers are entered into a draw to win a prize upon purchase. This is a great opportunity to really focus on specific product lines and highlight key selling points. Encouraging customers to share the competition content for extra entries, will also build on your current customer base.

Christmas Delivery Cut-Off Dates

A timely reminder to your customers about delivery cut-off dates is a must, not only to create a sense of urgency, but to avoid potential disappointment in the future.

Christmas Day Outfits and Christmas Party Outfit Ideas

Focusing on Christmas day outfits and outfits for festive occasions  is another strategy to drive sales. If express delivery is the only option left to customers, ensure this is highlighted within the email. If this email campaign is sent after final delivery cut-offs, it’s a good opportunity to drive foot traffic into stores.

Gift Card – Forgotten Someone?

For hard to buy for friends, or for a family member accidentally missed on your list, a gift card can be a saviour. If you have the capabilities to design bespoke xmas gift cards and allow for personalised messaging, make sure this is evident in your email campaign.
